At the recent Chichester All Parishes Meeting, Chief Inspector Jon Carter provided details of crime data for the county during 2020. Whilst it was pleasing to see a 9.1% decrease in overall crime compared to 2019 it is of considerable concern that 39% of all offences were domestic abuse related – partly due to effects of so many people having to stay at home in accordance with Coronavirus lockdowns etc. For more details, Chief Inspector Carter’s report can be seen here.
