Barlavington Estate – Estate plan consultation

Many parishioners will remember the opposition raised by Bury Parish Council a few years ago to the application made by the Barlavington Estate to extricate sand from their Horncroft site. The Estate has been working on a Whole Estate Plan for the past 12 months and is inviting comments from local residents before presenting it for review by the National Park Authority. You can access the information and feedback form on their consultant’s (Rural Solutions) website which will be available from 11th January for 6 weeks – please see here: –https://ruralsolutions.co.uk/barlavington-estate/

Pill Pond, West Burton, works

As part of our programme for the upkeep and maintenance of our public open spaces, work has just been completed at the Pill Pond in West Burton, involving de-silting of the pond to create a deeper area in the middle to encourage and preserve wildlife throughout the year, together with repair to cavities which had appeared in the embankment. We were able to finance these works with the aid of a grant from Operation Watershed, an  Active Communities Fund created by West Sussex County Council to enable groups to apply for funding to support projects that are important to their communities, to help prepare and protect against flooding and flood issues.
