New, flexible, low cost bus service.

In addition to the West Sussex Minibus Association Service which operates each Thursday and the three Compass Buses a week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (full details of which can be found on page 49 of this month’s edition of The Link) the new 99 Flex on-demand service has been introduced under the Book-a-Bus scheme designed for areas with limited bus services.

Bury Parish Council Chair Richard Champness said; “We have booked buses a few days in advance from the crossroads in Bury to Petworth and Pulborough station for £2 each way. It’s booked on a first come first served basis but is reliable and much cheaper than a taxi.

Residents can book journeys to key destinations such as their nearest town, train station, hospital and more.  This bus will run flexibly between 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday, and travel on the 99 Flex can be booked via the Ride Pingo app or by calling 01243 858854.

Fares are fixed at lower prices due to the Government price cap and concessionary pass holders travel free, subject to the usual time restrictions. More information on the 99 Flex service, the fares and the area covered can be found here.
