No doubt parishioners will have seen in the news that the current drought conditions are resulting in the introduction by some water supply companies of a Temporary Use Ban (mostly affecting hosepipe use) for parts of southern/south eastern England. A ban in parts of Kent and Sussex is imminent for customers billed by South East Water whose supply area includes East Sussex but no further west than Brighton. From 5th August, Southern Water will impose a ban covering Hampshire and the Isle of Wight but at the time of writing their customers in West Sussex (and hence Bury) are unaffected. However, it may only be a matter of time!
