Vaccination Update
As at 3rd May, a total of 53,184,869 people had received a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine (92.5% of the population aged 12 and over) and 49,727,305 people a second dose (86.5%). A booster (3rd) jab had been received by 39,248,005 people (68.2%). The 2022 spring booster (4th) jab is currently being offered to around 5 million people now eligible – those aged over 75 and the immunosuppressed over age 12 – and it is understood that an autumn booster programme, aimed at a wider group of people, is also planned by the government for later this year.
