Residents close to Bury Wharf were busy last week clearing the silt and weeds that had accumulated along the base of the church wall in Church Lane and by the wharf barriers. Bury Parish Council chairman Richard Champness and fellow councillor Paul Whyles joined neighbour Maurice Adams (ably assisted by his visiting grandson) in the clean-up. As our snap shows, the volunteer spirit is alive and well in Bury!
