Bury Village Hall plan

Bury’s new look village hall – you love the idea but we still need more backing!

We would like to thank the many residents who have returned their slips or taken the online option to indicate their support. There have been a few residents with reservations about the details of the plan, and this has resulted in a series of meetings when parish councillors and residents are engaging in constructive discussions. These positive contributions will help Bury Parish Council refine its proposals further and some exciting amendments to the plans will follow.

After several weeks of public consultation over Bury Parish Council’s proposals to renovate the village hall and create a new social hub at the heart of the community, feedback is overwhelmingly positive.

Meantime, there are still many parishioners who have not yet backed the proposals. If you support the plan, in principle, for a social hub at the heart of our community, please return the slip in your leaflet or vote online. This is very important, as fundraising can only be successful if we can demonstrate strong community support for the project. Every vote counts and does not in any way mean you are pledging financial or active support.

The consultation process will continue until our postponed public meeting in the spring. The date of the new meeting will be advised in due course.

Meanwhile, if you have any thoughts or comments to make on the proposals or you did not receive a copy of the leaflet, please email clerk@buryparishcouncil.org.uk

You can vote online here. Here’s a PDF of the leaflet and you can see the full file of plans and elevations by Victoria Holland Architects here.

Please note that Mike Simpson, our parish clerk, will be on annual leave after 9th December, returning in early January. In his absence, parishioners can send any enquiries to:
