Bury, West Burton & District Horticultural Society update

The Horticultural Society’s Plant Sale and Coffee Morning last Saturday was very well attended, much enjoyed by all and proved very successful financially. A similar event will be staged in the autumn.

The Society is planning to arrange a talk very soon at Bury Village Hall on WILDLIFE-FRIENDLY GARDENING by two Bury residents, so you’ll be able to help wildlife in your garden, whatever its size or style. There will also be a follow-up opportunity to see a ‘work in progress’ wildlife-focussed garden here in Bury village and discuss practical solutions with the presenters. More details will be provided once the date has been arranged.

On Saturday 15th July the Horticultural Society will be staging their Summer Flower Show in Bury Village Hall, further details of which will be available nearer the time.

Earlier this year we reported how the Society had donated and installed a new bench outside the post office at the village hall. Recently they have also donated the sum of £400 towards upkeep and maintenance of the hall. Bury Parish Council would like to record their gratitude to the Society for their ongoing support and wish them every success with the remainder of their 2023 programme.
