The following is a message from Lisa Tupper, Chair of Governors at Bury CE School
Dear Villagers,
With the increasing number of families joining Bury C of E Primary School we need to ensure that we have enough space to continue providing the excellent learning environment here at Bury.
The Governing Board at Bury School needs to secure funding towards the completion of the new classroom refurbishment which is currently underway. In addition to this new classroom for Buzzard Class (Years 5&6) we are looking at some internal refurbishment to other areas of the school including the school library. The aim is to improve the intervention learning environment and increase storage space for a variety of valuable learning resources. We are also keen to reduce our carbon footprint and hope to instal an air source heat pump as an upgrade to our existing oil-fired heating system with support from the Diocese.
The Governing body asks if any villagers, local businesses or landowners might be willing to sponsor the school to make a contribution towards the funding for these exciting improvements. Alternatively, any fundraising ideas would be greatly appreciated. If anyone feels that they are in a position to help, please get in contact with school directly. As I am sure you are all aware, the material costs for building works are increasing all the time. If you know of anyone in a position to contribute, however small, please do ask them to get in touch.
