Full Fibre Broadband upgrade…Update on Works

Openreach has given me the latest news, which is divided into Five areas within the Parish. Most of the installation work is complete and the new service will go live very soon in some areas. There are some premises and some areas that are waiting for ducting work (civils work) or replacement telegraph poles (which will enable final cabling) or connection to the regional network at Midhurst.

Here are the details:

1. Coombe Crescent, Bury
The upgrade has been commissioned and the system will go live very soon. Voucher holders will be notified by email from Openreach, at which time they can order their new service. The premises in this area that will have to wait for additional works before ordering are on this list: Coombe Crescent area.docx

2. The Street and Church Lane, Bury
The upgrade has been commissioned and the system will go live very soon. Voucher holders will be notified by email from Openreach, at which time they can order their new service. The premises in this area that will have to wait for additional works before ordering are on this list: Church lane & The street area.docx

3. West Burton
Openreach are waiting for one pole to be replaced (this work is planned for), once this has happened the upgrade will be commissioned and then go live within a week or two.

4. A29 – Bury Common, Bury Gate and 5. Fittleworth Road
Cabling is mostly complete in these areas (except for Fittleworth Road). Ducting (civils work), pole replacement and traffic management is required for these areas, which has been planned.

Reminder, the upgrade was planned as far as possible to future proof the Parish. So, once we learn of an area ‘going live’ we will let you know via the newsletter and website. This will enable those who did not register for a voucher to also order a full fibre service!

Thank you for your patience – when we hear more news we will let you know.
