Gemma Driver

Gemma moved to West Burton when she was four years old, and went to Bury School. She has lived in various other places in the UK and abroad over the years, but returned to West Burton six years ago. With a background in writing and communications, Gemma changed career five years ago to work in the charity sector. She is now an independent consultant and works in diverse roles for charities in Chichester and globally. Gemma realised that in her work she advocates for engaging with local communities but wasn’t engaged with her own local community, so joined Bury Parish Council in March 2022 – she is really enjoying being on the Council, getting to know her fellow Councillors and residents better and being involved in community matters and events. She is keen to work on the Council’s communications and community engagement activities, and she is a member of the Environment & Planning Committee.
