Time to have your say about a reinvented Bury Village Hall

Bury Parish Council would like to reinvent the part of the village hall that fronts The Street, creating a new meeting place that would provide Bury with a much-needed social hub, without compromising the existing main hall space.

This new social hub would be served by a reinvented kitchen and counter and could not only act as a community meeting place for smaller groups but could also serve coffee and cakes etc. on a daily basis, as well as providing a limited retail offering. Outside, the reinvigorated village hall would provide tables and chairs in a pergola setting, where parishioners could socialise.

The scheme would also provide improved toilets and would maximise the first-floor accommodation, thereby providing the parish council with new rental income opportunities.

Before Bury Parish Council draws up finished plans and launches a fund-raising initiative to cover the costs of the refurbishment, we would very much like your input on the project, what you would like to see included, and how you might make use of the new village hall and even, perhaps, how you might volunteer to help secure its success.

We would be grateful if you would take a few minutes to complete the short survey in the link below. It would be invaluable to us in deciding the way forward. A paper version of this will be delivered to all parish residences over the next few weeks, for those who may prefer it. Please provide us with your completed form by the end of July, 2021. Thank you.
