Residents of West Sussex can put their questions to the county’s health leaders ahead of the next meeting of the West Sussex Health & Wellbeing Board which will take place on Thursday, 27 January.
The Health & Wellbeing Board works to improve the health and wellbeing of West Sussex residents. The agenda includes a public forum during which people will be able to direct questions to the Board, which includes representatives from the county council, district and borough councils, the NHS, acute, community and mental health trusts, and the voluntary and community sector.
Councillor Bob Lanzer, the County Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health & Wellbeing, will chair the meeting, which will be held over video link due to Covid-19 restrictions. Members of the public will be able to watch the meeting live via webcast.
Cllr Lanzer said: “We acknowledge how important local health services are to people. This is a great opportunity for residents to put questions directly to elected councillors and key systems leaders across the local health and social care system.
“The Board helps to give communities a greater say in understanding and addressing their local health and wellbeing needs. That is why the public forum is such an important part of our meeting and I really encourage our residents to come forward with their questions.”
Questions for the Board can be submitted in advance by calling Erica Keegan, Democratic Services Officer, on 0330 222 6050 or emailing erica.keegan@
Other items on the agenda for the Board’s upcoming meeting include an update on behalf of the West Sussex Covid-19 Local Outbreak Engagement Board, and the Children First Board, a verbal update from the Director of Public Health and an update on health and care system pressures from the county council’s Executive Director Adults and Health and the Executive Managing Director from West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group.
The full West Sussex Health & Wellbeing Board agenda is available on the county council’s website, where people will also be able to access the live webcast of the meeting from 10.30am on Thursday, 27 January.
