Anti-Social & Dangerous Driving
We have reported regularly on BPC’s ongoing involvement with Sussex Police and other agencies as we work together to develop a permanent solution to this problem which blights our community and many others in the county so it was reassuring to read in the Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner’s report which accompanied our council tax bills that the increase in the precept this year will help support the provision of more officers and specialist equipment to enable Sussex Police to intensify their enforcement measures against those abusing our roads and endangering other drivers.

Our MP, Andrew Griffith, has been very active in his support on this issue and has confirmed in his monthly newsletter that the successful Operation Downsway initiated by Sussex Police last summer is already underway with marked and unmarked vehicles taking to the roads. Last weekend the motorbikes were in evidence again but so were the speed camera van and an unmarked police motorcycle which seemed to have the effect of mitigating the noise.
