Missed waste bin collection: What to do now

The Met Office warning of significant disruption and potential danger to life from Storm Eunice last Friday led to Chichester District Council cancelling all bin collections scheduled for that day. For most residents in the parish this resulted in non-collection of the black waste bin. CDC will not organise a special “catch-up” collection but have issued the following advice: –

“If your waste or recycling was due to be collected today (18th), please keep hold of this. Our crews will be able to collect excess general waste on your next scheduled general waste collection day. Likewise, we’ll also be able to collect excess recycling on your next scheduled recycling collection day. Strong winds are likely to blow your bin over so please don’t leave bins out.”

If you have excess waste, please put this in a bag next to the bin on the next scheduled collection date. If you have extra recycling, please leave it loosely tied in a black sack next to the recycling bin to ensure the contents stay dry.
