Elections, Thursday, May 6

A reminder that the West Sussex County Council and Police and Crime Commissioner elections are taking place on Thursday 6 May with Bury Village Hall as the polling station which will be open between 7am and 10pm.

Chichester District Council report that they have been working hard to make sure that all polling stations are Covid-secure for both voters and staff. Polling stations will be cleaned regularly throughout the day and there will be a limit to the number of people in the polling station to maintain social distancing, so voters may need to queue. Voters can bring their own pen or pencil. However, pencils will be provided and sanitised between uses. Please ensure that you follow the guidance given to you on arrival and wear a face covering (unless medically exempt).

The current County Councillor for the Rother Valley, David Bradford, is now standing down and we should like to thank him for his help and guidance during his term of office and in particular, his support for our parish in our attempts to achieve a permanent solution to the anti-social road use issue. Details of the four candidates standing at the election can be seen here:  Rother_Valley__SOPN.pdf (chichester.gov.uk)

The current Police and Crime Commissioner for the Sussex Police area is Katy Bourne whose name will be familiar to parishioners following our reports of her involvement with the anti-social road use campaign. She is standing for re-election along with four other candidates and details can be found here: PCC_Notice_of_Poll.pdf (chichester.gov.uk)
