Census 2021

On 21 March 2021, the decennial 2021 United Kingdom census, called Census 2021, will take place. This will be conducted by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and will be a digital-first census with people encouraged to respond online on their mobile phones, laptops, PCs or tablets with extensive online support, including help by email, social media, text message and on a webchat facility on our website. People can also complete their census over the phone, with the help of ONS trained staff, or by using the traditional paper form.

Letters containing an access code for online Census completion will be posted out to households in early March. The letter will also contain a phone number for requesting a paper Census which will then be posted to households.
